- February 15 - End of the Seven Years' War.
- December 14 - 27 - The Conestoga Massacre: on December 14, the Paxton Boys attack Conestoga Indian Town, Pennsylvania, and kill six Conestoga Indians. 13 days later on December 27 the group attacks Lancaster Gaol, where the Conestoga have been moved for own protection, and kill 14. Only two Conestoga survive, leading to the extinction of the tribe when they die.
- Unknown - American Indian Wars: The French and Indian War ends with a British victory, and the Kingdom of France cedes its New France territory to Great Britain.
