Ableism is any type of prejudice or discrimination against people with disabilities. In many societies, people with different kinds of disabilities have been considered inferior. This includes physical disabilities, mental disabilities, emotional disabilities, and many others. In North Korea, the disabled are put in concentration camps, and in Nazi Germany, the disabled were killed under the Action T4 program as part of the Holocaust. The disabled have been attacked by many societies for centuries. Children with disabilities are up to 4 times as likely to get bullied in school as another student. Moreover, children with disabilities are 3.7 times more likely than non-disabled children to be victims of any form of violence.
