Shaker Wahib al-Fahdawi al-Dulaimi, better known as Abu Waheeb, was one of the leaders of ISIL in Iraq. In 2006, he was arrested on charges of belonging to a militant group by US forces, and incarcerated in the Tikrit Central prison. However, he was liberated by the Islamic State in 2012, and became the field commander of Islamic State in Iraq. He was blamed by Iraqi officials for many terror attacks committed by Islamic State, including the murder of three Syrian truck drivers. On May 6, 2016, Abu Waheeb was killed along with three others in a vehicle by a US airstrike near Rutba. Omar Mateen cited revenge for his killing as the reason for the 2016 Pulse Nightclub shooting.
