'''Adam Peter Lanza''' (April 22, 1992 - December 14, 2012) was an American man who perpetrated the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, which happened on December 14, 2012.
Prior to the shooting, he killed his mother, Nancy Lanza, in their home. At Sandy Hook Elementary, he killed 20 children  between the ages of 6-7. He shot 6 adults, including the school principal, and injured at least 11 more before committing suicide.

Currently, the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting is the deadliest [[School Shooting|school shooting]] in modern American history to take place at an elementary school, and the fourth deadliest [[Mass Shooting|mass shooting]] in U.S history overall.
