Mr. Carlock was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
In 2007, Carlock was caught with [[Child Pornography]] on his phone, and was later revealed to have even more on his laptop and in his house. He was charged with possession of child pornography and crossing state lines to molest children, but died of a heart attack while awaiting trial.
 
He is survived by Mary; a son, Todd Carlock of Lebanon; a daughter, Amber Carlock of Lebanon; his siblings, Pam (husband, Tom) Marsh of Springfield, Dan (wife, Dione) Carlock of Phoenix, John (wife, Lori) Gwin of Springfield and Celeste Usher of Springfield; an uncle, Bill (wife, Sharon) McCarty of Virden; and several nieces and nephews.
 
Private family services were held with Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home handling arrangements. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Buckhart. The family requests no flowers be sent, but memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital or any charity of choice.
 
Amon Paul Carlock Jr., 57, of Springfield passed away Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at St. John's Hospital.
