Anthony Barbaro ( September 9 1957-November 1 1975) was an American man who in December 1974 killed 3 people and wounded 11 with a rifle at high school Olean, New York.
Attack
On December 30, 1974, at about 3 p.m., 17-year-old Anthony Barbaro entered Olean High School armed with a .30-06 rifle with telescopic sights and a 12-gauge shotgun in a hallway, killed janitor Earl Metcalf with a shot to the chest, and began shooting at people passing by on the street from a third-floor window. holding firefighters and police at bay for 90 minutes. until he was captured. On November 1, 1975 Barbaro committed suicide by hanging himself with a bedsheet in his cell in the Cattaraugus County Jail.
