Asma al-Assad (born August 11, 1975) is the First Lady of Syria. She has been accused of propping up her husband Bashar al-Assad as well as having high-level intel with top-ranking Syrian officials. As such, the European Union has placed sanctions against her and her husband, making it illegal to support them.
