Goldstein's gravesite became a pilgrimage site for Jewish extremists<sup>.</sup><sup class="reference" id="cite_ref-Party_7-0"></sup> In 1999, after the passing of Israeli legislation outlawing monuments to terrorists, the Israeli army dismantled the shrine that had been built to Goldstein at the site of his interment.
