Brandy Stutzman
Brandy Stutzman (born Brandy Norfleet on August 16, 1979) is the villainous mastermind behind the 2010 murder of her husband.
Brandy Norfleet was born on August 16, 1979, and was raised by a single mother who worked odd hours to make ends meet. Some time in 2002, Brandy met Air Force Veteran Joe Stutzman in Vegas, and the couple ended up marrying in June of 2003. The pair settled in North Las Vegas, where they welcomed a son named Aaron.
Joe left the Air Force and worked as a military contractor, which required trips to Afghanistan and Iraq. Joe's time away left Brandy lonely and struggling with depression, and it was during this time that she began hanging with a group of teenage Juggalos (face-painted Insane Clown Posse fans) and engaging in wild parties at her own home. At some point in 2010, Joe found out about the immense amount of money that Brandy and her teenage friends spent, and it led to verbal and physical arguments that resulted in Brandy being arrested on more than one occasion for domestic violence.
Joe informed Brandy that he would be filing divorce papers, after which Brandy decided to plot her husband's murder. The villainess coerced Jeremiah Merriwether, a 19-year-old Juggalo, to kill Joe, with the conversation taking place while Brandy was braiding Jeremiah's hair. She portrayed Joe as being abusive towards her, and informed her co-conspirator that he needed to kill Joe to save her family. In actuality, the evil Brandy planned to cash in on Joe's life insurance policy, which was worth $213,000, and it was on the evening of November 7, 2010 that Jeremiah killed Joe in the Stutzman backyard, stabbing Joe 15 times before cutting off his ring finger.
Brandy phoned police under the pretense of having found her husband's body, and later fingering Jeremiah as her husband's killer. Jeremiah confessed, though a further investigation ended up revealing Brandy as the mastermind, leading to both conspirators being arrested. On January 30, 2017, Brandy was convicted of first degree murder and faced the death penalty, however, just days later, she received a life sentence. She was the subject of the 450th episode of Snapped, which aired on November 10, 2019.
