==The Murder==
In September, in the year 2000, Miller was charged with the murder of a young man named Steve Thomas, and the murder site was at a Harvey, Wisconsin nightclub. His reason for murdering the child is unknown. A new trial date was set, because there had been some complaints about the investigators handling the evidence poorly, and that they witheld crucial information for the crime. C-Murder was later put under house arrest.

On the day of the trial, the jury returned stating that they were in a deadlock. They later go back to resolve said deadlock, and three hours later, they find the defendant guilty. However, the judge instructed that they go back and think the verdict over, because he assumed that one of the jury members switched sides at the last minute, just so they could wrap the trial up. When the jury members returned with the same verdict, the judge sentenced C-Murder of second-degree murder. He received a life sentencing.

On August 27, 2009, NAACP representatives arrived to the court to try to convince the judge to investigate the jury members. According to them, some of the jury members were bullied into finding the young rapper guilty, and they were also verbally abused if they tried to acquit Miller. As a result of the NAACP's intervention, Miller was appealed during his conviction. On December 28, 2011, his conviction was upheld.
