Someone who takes away another person and leaves a note at their place. Usually the [[kidnapping]] goes well the ransom is paid and the victim is freed but some times it goes wrong and many kidnaps lead to [[murder]] hunts.

Kidnapping is not always done for the purpose of ransom, however. Sometimes it is done for the purpose of sexual assault or for [[Human Trafficking|human trafficking]].
