Saïd Kouachi (7 September 1980 – 9 January 2015) and Chérif Kouachi (29 November 1982 – 9 January 2015) were French brothers born in Paris to Algerian immigrants, were the main suspects of the 2015 Charlie Hebdo shooting that killed 12 and injured 11. They identified themselves as belonging to the Islamist terrorist group Al-Qaeda's branch in Yemen, which took responsibility for the attack.

The attack on the morning of 7 January 2015, where the gunmen sprayed the Charlie Hebdo lobby with gunfire upon entering. The shooting lasted five to ten minutes. After that they fled to their hideout.

Two days later, the gunmen were killed by the French army in the siege that lasted for eight to nine hours in Dammartin-en-Goële
