Church burning is the active arson destruction of churches. The activity is commonly known as a symbol of anti-christianity most infamously in Scandinavia. It was widely done by individuals associated with the Black Metal scene in countries such as Sweden and Norway. Church burnings have also been common at other times throughout history. Some of those incidents are listed below.

Leaders such as King Nebuchadnezzar II burned down synagogues and any other theistic temple
