a Civil War is a type of warfare in which two or more factions within a nation or state engage in armed conflict, often destabilizing nearby regions - many Civil Wars are the result of failed or partial coups and can lead to more serious conflicts if other nations get involved. Civil Wars often end with a new regime taking over, enforcing (often) tyrannical rule - it is very rare a civil war has a positive outcome.
