He was joined by militia members from several surrounding states as believing to attempting make an uprising in America and the standoff, which could have led to a both battle-like and Waco-like disaster, ended with the feds backing off and end the "first wave". Excepted few days later they back with more supplies, weapons and few hundred more men of SWAT teams from few states for the second wave of his ranch. Bundy and his militia supporters also used women as human shields in case the federal agents opened fire.
