Curtis Ray Watson (born August 6th, 1975) is a convicted criminal who broke out of a Tennessee prison with a tractor and raped and killed a 64-year old prison guard named Debra Johnson by strangling her with a cord in the process. Before he broke out of jail on his 44th birthday, he was serving a 15-year sentence for aggravated kidnapping and had a conviction of aggravated child abuse prior to his sentence. Five days later, on August 11, 2019, he was caught in a soybean field approximately ten miles from the prison he escaped from after he was seen in a doorbell camera near a refrigerator. On February 4th, 2020, he was indicted on 15 counts for the murder and rape of Debra Johnson.
