David Joseph Carpenter, (born May 6, 1930) also known as Trailside Killer, is an American serial killer known for stalking and killing several people on trails in state parks near San Francisco, California. Check out below to see 26 most terrifying and terrifying facts about David Carpenter.

From 1979 to 1981, Carpenter raped and murdered five women in Santa Cruz and Marín counties. On May 10, 1988, a San Diego jury convicted him of five counts of first-degree murder. Carpenter was also found guilty of raping two of the women and attempting to rape a third.
