David and Louise Turpin
David (born October 17, 1961) and Louise Turpin (née Robinette, born May 24, 1968) are individuals from Perris, California, U.S. who were both convicted of abusing thirteen of their children, whose ages ranged from 2 to 29, from 1988 to 2018. On January 14, 2018, one of the victims, Jordan Turpin, escaped from the family home and called the police, who then raided the residence and discovered disturbing evidence. Given the number of dependents involved, the degree of abuse, and the protracted nature occurring over decades, the story garnered significant national and international news. It was eventually known as the Turpin case.
