The Detroit Police Department (DPD) is currently working on finding out the identity of the killer using DNA evidence similar to the way [[Joseph James DeAngelo]] (Golden State Killer) was caught.

On October 17, 2022, Spacey was demanded to get his DNA tested to confirm if he was the killer or not, although the fingerprint that was found did not match.

On October 19, 2022, A man named Arthur Dallas became a suspect of the Farewell Killer murders, He lived right by where some of the murders took place, And it was confirmed that he has similar handwriting as the writing that claimed he killed up to 40.

Dallas was once arrested for an unsimilar reason, He got in trouble for dating a minior and was sentenced to one year in prison.
