== Personality == {{Quote|Everyone is always making fun of me because of how I look and how fucking weak I am and shit. Well, I will get you back: ultimate fucking revenge here. You, people, could have shown more respect, treated me better, asked for my knowledge or guidance more, treated me more like a senior, and maybe I wouldn't have been as ready to tear your fucking heads off.|Eric Harris}} {{Quote|we....... have.... GUNS! we fucking got 'em you sons of bitches! HA! |Eric announcing that he and Dylan have guns in his journal}} [[File:GleefulForsakenFerret-small.gif|thumb|215x215px|One of the few moments where Eric Harris got angry in the released tapes.]] From all accounts, Eric was a "normal guy" when he lived in Plattsburgh. "My mouth just dropped," former classmate Kyle Ross said. "He was a typical kid. He didn't seem anything like what is portrayed on TV." Eric's father told his former classmates at Englewood High School's 20th reunion that his goal in life was to raise two good sons. Harris was described as very nice and likable when growing up, who often hugged his female classmates and on one occasion even gave his favorite teacher a Christmas present. Many adults even referred to Harris as charismatic. Harris often secretly bragged about his ability to deceive other people, once stating in a tape that he could make anyone believe anything. Despite people's great remarks about Harris's personality, this did not last. By his junior year, Harris was also known to be ill-tempered. Many people noticed this odd change in his behavior. Unlike before, Harris would be angry with everyone, and seemed that no one was good enough for his standards. This seemed more evident in his journal entries, which included Harris ranting about all kinds of groups of people, based on race, sex, sexual orientation, and social status.
