For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. ADN-ZB Gottlob Berger, SS-Obergruppenführer und General der Waffen-SS, Leiter des SS-Führungshauptamtes, ab 1940 Chef des SS-Hauptamtes Erbwesen für Waffen-SS in Berlin. Er wurde 1944 mit dem Ritterkreuz mit Schwertern zum Kriegsverdienstkreuz ausgezeichnet (unser Bild). Im Nürnberger-Wilhelmstraßen-Prozess 1949 zu 25 Jahren Gefängnis verurteilt, wurde er bereits 1951 wieder entlassen. (geb. 16.7.1896 in Gerstetten/Wttbg.) |
