The Ahrar al-Sunna Baalbek Brigade, translated into English as the Free Sunnis of Baalbek Brigade, are an Islamic terrorist group active in Lebanon that has vowed to oppose the Shi’ite group Hezbollah following a clash between Hezbollah jihadists and Sunni Muslims outside Baalbek.
The group was responsible for the assassination of senior Hezbollah member Hassan al-Laqis in 2013, and has utilised suicide bombings as a weapon. On June 30, 2014, they pledged allegiance to The Islamic State.
