Fritz Knöchlein (1911-1949) was a Nazi officer responsible for the Le Paradis massacre, during which 97 British soldiers were shot dead and two were critically wounded. He is also believed to have been responsible for the murder of a group of Royal Scots. He was convicted of war crimes on the evidence of the two survivors from Le Paradis and hanged in January 1949.
