[[File:George Greenshields.jpg|thumb|243x243px]] '''George Greenshields''' was a Scottish man responsible for the [[murder]] of James Griffin and the attempted murder of Neil Balfour. In 1998, Greenshields attacked a homeless man, James Griffin, and hacked him to death before burning the body. After being convicted of murder, he was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum tariff of thirty years, but was released on licence in 2003. However, he then attacked Neil Balfour, a resident of the Scottish town of Perth, in a frenzied attack and slashed his throat with a breadknife, seriously injuring him and leaving him with permanent scarring, for which he was sentenced to eight years in prison, to be served concurrently with the rest of his life sentence for James Griffin's murder. While serving his sentence in 2020, he became infected with COVID-19, which the Scottish prison system was rife with at the time, and soon died on May 15th, at the age of 68.
