George Lincoln Rockwell (March 9th, 1918 – August 25th, 1967) was the founder of the American Nazi Party. Rockwell was a major figure in the neo-Nazi movement in the United States, and his beliefs and writings have continued to be influential among white nationalists and neo-Nazis, including David Duke.
He was assassinated on August 25th, 1967 by a fellow Neo-Nazi named John Patler who had been expelled for Communist sympathizing.
Trivia
- He was supportive of Elijah Muhammed and Malcolm X as they shared the goal of racial separation.
- Was an agnostic, he perceived religion as a necessary pillar to civilization rather than literally true.
- His father was never pleased with his racist views, and upon hearing of his death stated: "I am not surprised at all. I've expected it for quite some time."
