Georgios Papadopoulos (May 5th, 1919 - June 27th, 1999) was the military dictator of Greece from his coup in 1967 and ruling until 1974. During his rule he subjected civilians to censorship, mass arrests, torture and beatings. After his rule along with the rest of the Junta he was sentenced to life imprisonment until his death in 1999 in a hospital in Athens at the age of 80.
