'''Gordon Lee Baum''' (August 24, 1940 - March 5, 2015) was the co-founder and CEO of the [[Council of Conservative Citizens]] (CCC), a virulently racist [[White Power Movement|white supremacist]] group whose website has referred to blacks as "a retrograde species of humanity" and which once characterized non-white immigration as turning the U.S. population into a "slimy brown mass of glop." Baum supported former [[Ku Klux Klan]] leader [[David Duke]] in his bid to be the governor of Louisiana, and his organization became more openly racist after being "outed" in a 1998/1999 political scandal, when it was revealed that then-Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott (R-Miss.) had spoken at the group's meetings.
