H.H Holmes was an American serial killer. He created a hotel of gas used to kill hundreds of people. Even though his body count was only 27, he is likely to have killed far more, possibly even up to 1,000 people. He built the "World's Fair Hotel" less than two miles away from the 1893 Chicago World's Fair. In the hotel, which he built for death purposes, he used gas, pitchforks, water, and chemicals that hurt peoples skin to kill them. In one room, it even had a shower that showed a giant amout of cyanide in it. This seems to be similar to Stephen King's book item Hotel Room 1408. On May 9, 1896, he was executed by hanging. He is known as one of the first American infamous serial killers.
