Hassan-i Sabbāh (Persian: حسن صباح Hasan-i Sabbāh) or Hassan as-Sabbāh (Arabic: حسن الصباح Ḥasan aṣ-Ṣabbāḥ) (circa 1050–1124)[1][2] was the leader of the Nizārī Ismā‘īlītes and the founder of the order known as Assassins.[3] Assassins, who are often referred to as the Hashshashin, was a group of fedayeen.[4]
