The Iron Maiden is a type of torture device that consists of a cabinet tall enough to enclose a human being. It had nails fixed through the sides ad the victim would be put inside and the door would be lowly closed unless the victim confessed to the crime they were convicted of.

  • A type of Iron Maiden exists in the book and film Matilda used by the main antagonist Miss Trunchbull. It is called The Chokey and consists of a cupboard with nails fixed through the sides with very little room and is also filled with broken glass
