'''Jacob Zuma''' (April 12<sup>th</sup>, 1942 - ) is a South African politician who served as the 4th President of South Africa from 2009 until his resignation in 2018. He also served as the President of South Africa's dominant political party, the African National Congress (ANC) from 2007 until 2017.

Zuma is arguably the most corrupt president in the history of South Africa. For nearly his entire presidency as well as a majority of his time as the leader of the ANC, he has faced numerous accusations of corruption, including fraud, money laundering, embezzlement, and bribery. Zuma has been implicated in illegally purchasing weapons from other countries, using taxpayer funds to enrich himself, and rigging elections. The charges have been withdrawn and reinstated on several different occasions. 

In addition, Zuma has been accused and was put on trial for allegedly raping a 31-year old woman. Though he was ultimately cleared of rape, he later admitted that he did indeed have unprotected sex with the woman, who was HIV positive. The statement has drawn controversy from the public as well as other government officials, especially due to the fact that Zuma frequently advised against having unprotected sex with individuals who had HIV or AIDS. He has also displayed traits of racism towards Boers.

Despite South Africa being a generally free country, Zuma has supported dictators such as [[Bashar al-Assad]], [[Robert Mugabe]], [[Vladimir Putin]], and [[Nicolás Maduro]].

After his resignation from office he has repeatedly attempted to stop the National Prosecution Agency (NPA) from charging him with corruption. His latest bid to obtain a permanent stay of prosecution was rejected by the Durban High Court on 14 November 2019, which ruling he took on Appeal on the 22nd of November 2019. He is currently awaiting trial over allegations of an illegal arms deal in the 1990s, as well as serving a 15-month prison sentence for contempt of court.
