Joachim Knychała (born 8 September 1952 in Bytom, died 28 October 1985 in Cracow), known as "A Vampire from Bytom" or "Frankenstein" was a polish serial killer who brutally attacked and killed five young ladies in Śląsk. He was a son of Wiktor and Anna; he worked as a carpenter and miner at mine "Andaluzja" in Piekary Śląskie, had wife and two kids. He was the second, after Zdzisław Marchwicki (A Vampire from Zagłębie) the infamous "wampire" functioning on premises of Górnośląski Okręg Przemysłowy. At investigation he said, that he used to go to Marchwicki's trials and that what he heard, inspired him. He was sentenced with death penalty. The penalty was executed on 28th October 1985.
