John Cobin is an American economist and writer who currently lives in Chile, who has been accused of being a supremacist fanatic and an far-rightist, a fan of Augusto Pinochet and with a criminal record in the United States.
In 2019, he became famous for firing with a pistol at a crowd of people who were protesting in Reñaca (Chilean town in the Valparaiso region) while wearing a yellow vest. After this incident, he was taken to trial, and is currently in custody.
