== Death == Townley died on October 2, 2021, when he ambushed his ex-wife Laura Bird and her new relationship partner Zachary Anderson with a hatchet in her home in Athens, Georgia. Zachary Anderson fought back, armed with a gun, and shot Townley, who died on the premises. Anderson shot Bird by accident as well, who luckily did survive but sustained serious injuries.
