'''José Adolfo Paredes Márquez''' is a Chilean soldier responsible for the murder of singer and songwriter Victor Jara in 1973. The murder was part of a coup to overthrow Chilean socialist politician Salvador Allende. He conspired to kill Jara alongside [[Nelson Edgardo Haase Mazzei]] and [[Edwin Dimter Bianchi]].

He cowardly kept silent to his crimes, attempting to evade his criminal involvement in Jara's murder. But after three decades, Márquez finally confessed to his role as the perpretrator in the murder. He was later prosecuted and arrested for his crimes. Later in 2015 however, the Minister of the Court of Appeals of Santiago, Miguel Vásquez, annulled his prosecution, simply because of the judgement that hhe did not have greater involvement in Jara's murder.
