He is known predominantly for his role in the sexual abuse of more than 150 girls, including a number of renowned Olympic gymnasts. On January 24<sup>th</sup>, 2018; Nassar was sentenced to between 40 to 175 years in prison for sexual assault of minors. This is in addition to the 60 year term Nassar was sentenced to in 2017 on [[Child Pornography|child pornography]] charges.
