The Luhansk People's Republic is a terrorist organization in Ukraine. In the wake of the 2014 Revolution of Dignity, pro-Russian protesters occupied the southern part of Luhansk oblast and unilaterally declared independence to the Ukrainian government, claiming the occupied area as LPR's territory. It is a major participant in the War in Donbass.
Currently, Russia, South Ossetia and Donetsk People's Republic are the only countries that have national recognition of the LPR and is supported by Belarus, Syria, Nicaragua and Venezuela.

Russia initially do not recognize LPR's independence but it recognized it on 21 February 2022. Currenlty recognized by Bashar al-Assad and Kim Jong-un whose governments are denounced as totalitarian.

The flag of Luhansk is the Russian one but with the upper color blue.
