Mark Middleton is a far-right extremist who along with his wife, Jalise Middleton, participated in the 2021 United States Capitol storming. Both were charged for assaulting two D.C. police officers during the riots. Mark was responsible for holding down a barricade and pinning the police officers, while his wife grabbed the officers and physically smacked them.

Months after, however, Middleton started running for office in the Texas House.
