And then they eat the poo poo!"|-Ssempa at a press conference about the Anti-Homosexuality Bill}} '''Martin Ssempa''' is a Ugandan pastor, homophobe, and blackmailer. He plays a prominent role in Uganda's continuing witch-hunt against LGBT people and rose to the Internet infamy after a video was published on YouTube in May 2010, which shows him telling the Ugandan audience that eating human feces is a common sexual practice of gay men, known as "Eat Da Poo Poo". He is one of the most prominent advocates of Uganda's notorious 2014 Anti-Homosexuality Act. In addition, Ssempa appeared in a televised debate with LGBT rights activist Pepe Julian Onziema, in which he holds up bananas, cucumbers, and carrots and shouts over Onziema and moderator Simon Kaggwa Njala in English and Luganda. This video went viral in 2019. In 2010, Ssempa blackmailed Pastor Robert Kayanja, falsely accusing him of sexually assaulting two underage boys at his church. Kayanja was cleared of the charges, and in 2012 Ssempa was sentenced to 100 hours of community service for conspiracy to destroy Kayanja's reputation.
