Michael Pleasted
Michael "Mick" Pleasted (also known by his birth name of Robin Moult; around 1940 - November 28, 2014) was a British paedophile who was stabbed to death by the mother of three children he had sexually abused. After his death, it was discovered that Pleasted had a lengthy criminal record and had changed his name from Robin Moult to avoid being identified.

Pleasted was born Robin Moult sometime in the 1940s. He lived in the UK capital city of London. From 1970 until the late 1990s Moult, described by police as a "career paedophile", was convicted of sexual assaults against boys aged between fourteen and sixteen on twenty-four separate occasions. However, as the sex offenders register was not introduced to the UK until 1997 Moult was not registered and was even able to change his name to Michael Pleasted via deed poll.
After his final conviction, Pleasted moved into the East London borough of Newham. The local council was unaware of his record and allowed him to move into a council estate overlooking a school. Pleasted also began volunteering at a local community centre, giving him access to local children. He would often wear a Hi-Viz jacket given to him by the council to give an impression of authority, which allowed him to abuse local children seemingly with impunity. Eventually, in 2012 a social worker reported his suspicious relationship with a teenage boy to the police. No charges were brought against Pleasted, but rumors began circulating about his true nature.
Despite the allegations against him, a local mother-of-three named Sarah Sands took pity on him, believing he was "a role model" and a "lovely old man". She befriended Pleasted, who had helped her twelve-year-old son Bradley get a job at the community centre, and began serving him meals and visiting him. Pleasted began grooming her three sons before eventually starting to abuse them. Years later, all three of them would waive their right to anonymity to tell their story to the media.
In late 2014, a few weeks before his death, the 77-year-old Pleasted was arrested on charges of molesting two children in the area. Bradley Sands was interviewed by police and told them that he had been abused as well. However, a judge chose to grant Pleasted bail and allowed him to return to the estate over the objections of police and prosecutors.
On November 28, Sarah Sands discovered Bradley in a hysterical state. On speaking to her son she discovered that Pleasted had been abusing her children and, after drinking several bottles of wine, grabbed a kitchen knife and went to confront him. Sands claimed that she had simply wanted to make him confess so her children would not have to face him in court. During the confrontation, Pleasted displayed a complete lack of remorse, claiming that the Sands children were lying and reportedly "smirking" at her. Sands poked him with the knife, at which point Pleasted grabbed her arm and tried to take the knife away from her. Sands then lost control and stabbed Pleasted five times, causing him to bleed to death after crawling into the hallway. Sands later confessed her actions and served four years in prison for manslaughter before being released.
