Militant Islam or Islamic terrorism is the extreme wing of the Islam belief, totally at odds with the mainstream - However, it is also commonly associated with terrorism and extremism, due to groups that think they are helping the "Islamist" agenda. They often wage jihad - or "holy wars" - again their enemies.
