During World War I lived in Russia.1949 graduated from Respublic party school,1955-Vilnius Pedagogical Institute,1963 Academy of Social Sciences under CPSU Center Committee,1954-56 Lithuania Communist Party (LCP) head of the party committe propaganda's department. From 1963 to 1969 he worked at the Party History Institute Lecturer at Kaunas Polytechnic Institute, under LCP Center Committee Vilnius branch. 1969-76 Vilnius Civil Engineering Institute Head of the Department of Philosphy and Scientific Commnunism(since1974-Scientific Communist).From 1976 to 1990 he taught at the Vilnius Pedagogical Institute; professor (1978-90).He opposed the restoration of Lithuania's independence and cofounded the LCP(CPSU Platform) organization under the USSR subordinate authorities in Lithuania.1989 12-1990 03 Secretary of the LCP9(CPSU) Temporary Center Committee,since 03.03.1990 First Secretary of the LCP(CPSU) Central Committee.1990-07-1991 Member of the Political Bureau of the CPSU Central Committee.1990-91 chaired the pro-Soviet Congress of the Lithuanian Democratic Forces,1991-chaired the Lithuanian National Rescue Committee.USSR inspired by the failed thirthteen of Janurary one of the leaders of the coup(1991). After the failed August Putsch in Moscow(19-21 August 1991) fled to the USSR. 15 January 1994 Arrested in Minsk and transfered to Lithuania by Belarusian authorities. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison (up 2006 prisoner) for the creation of anti-government organizations and attempted coup d'état in 1999.He wrote,compiled and produced for the press Marxism-Leninism dozens of books and collection of articles , including the book LCP Ideollogical Work wiht Intelligence 1945-1965(1972).
