Mykolas Burokevičius
Burokevicius Mykolas 1927 10 07Alytus 20 01 2016Vilnius, Soviet activist of Lithuania. Historical. Ist. m. dr. (1976). He lived in Russia during World War II. In 1949 he graduated from the Republican Party School, 1955 from the Vilnius Pedagogical Institute, 1963 from the Academy of Social Sciences under the Committee of the CPSU Center. 1954-56 Lithuanian Communist Party (LCP) Head of the Party Committee Propaganda Sector. From 1963 to 1969 he worked at the Party History Institute Lecturer at Kaunas Polytechnic Institute, under the LCP Center Committee Vilnius branch. 1969–76 Vilnius Civil Engineering Institute Head of the Department of Philosophy and Scientific Communism (since 1974 - Scientific Communist). From 1976 to 1990 he taught at the Vilnius Pedagogical Institute ; professor (1978-90). He opposed the restoration of Lithuania's independence and co-founded the LCP (CPSU platform) organization under the USSR subordinate authorities in Lithuania. 1989 12–1990 03 Secretary of the LCP (CPSU) Temporary Center Committee, since 03.03.1990 First Secretary of the LCP (CPSU) Central Committee. 1990-07-1991 Member of the Political Bureau of the CPSU Central Committee. 1990-91 chaired the pro-Soviet Congress of Lithuanian Democratic Forces, 1991 - chaired the Lithuanian National Rescue Committee . USSR-inspired failed thirteenth of January one of the leaders of the coup (1991). After the failed August Putsch In Moscow (19-21 August 1991) fled to the USSR. 15 January 1994 Arrested in Minsk and transferred to Belarus by the Belarusian authorities. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison (up to 2006 prisoner) for the creation of anti-government organizations and attempted coup d'état in 1999. He wrote, compiled and produced for the press Marxism-Leninism dozens of books and collections of articles, including the book The LCP's Ideological Work with Intelligence 1945–1965 (1972).
