==Biography== Nancy Bocanegra was born in Texas in 1955. In 1977, she met Phillip Garrido, who was in prison for kidnapping and rape, while visiting her uncle in Leavenworth Prison. They married on 5 October 1981 while Phillip was still in prison, and they began living together after Phillip was paroled in 1988. On 10 June 1991, 11-year-old Jaycee Dugard was approached by a car in Meyers, California. The driver, Phillip Garrido, got out and tasered her unconscious, before Nancy Garrido pulled her into the car, stripped her naked and covered her head with a blanket and Phillip drove back to their home in Antioch, 300 miles away. Police later concluded that the Garridos had been staking out the area for some time and Phillip had selected Jaycee as their target. Upon arriving back at their house, the Garridos handcuffed Jaycee and left her in a dilapidated shed guarded by their pet Dobermans. For the first seven months of the kidnapping, Jaycee had no contact with anyone except Phillip, who would rape her daily. After seven months, Phillip introduced Jaycee to Nancy, who would manipulate her by providing her with meals and stuffed animals and break down crying in order to make her feel guilty. According to Jaycee, Nancy was just as cruel and manipulative as Phillip, and would often blame her for her kidnapping for attracting Phillip's attention. Nancy also took up Phillip's role as jailer while he was in prison for drug charges. Jaycee got pregnant by Phillip Garrido in 1994, giving birth to a daughter. She gave birth to a second daughter in 1997. Nancy forced Jaycee and her daughters to refer to her as their mother. This went on until 2009, when Jaycee and her daughters were seen in public with Phillip Garrido. Phillip was arrested, as his parole barred him from having contact with minors. The police grew suspicious of Jaycee's true identity and eventually discovered she was Jaycee Dugard and had been kidnapped and raped by Phillip Garrido. Nancy was arrested soon after. Both Phillip and Nancy eventually pleaded guilty to kidnapping and rape. Phillip was sentenced to 431 years in prison, whereas Nancy received a sentence of 36 years to life. She is currently incarcerated in Central California Women's Facility, Chowchilla.
