The New People's Army (NPA) is a communist insurgent group based in the Philippines. It was founded by Jose Maria Sison. The NPA is the military arm of the Communist Party of the Philippines. The NPA has been accussed of many human rights violations such as recruiting child soldiers and attacking civilian establishments, especially those owned by corporations. They are vocal against the Philippine Government and the United States
