Information
Petri was born at April 17, 1983. According to his parents before the bombing, Petri used home-made bombs and detonated them in nearby forests. He was a chemistry student of Evtek, Espoo-Vantaa Institu of Technology.
Bombing
Gerdt constructed a bomb in his own apartment inside the Myyrmanni mall, Vantaa. The bomb had shotgun pellets, hinting that the bomb was meant to kill. After the bomb detonated, Petri and 6 people died. The explosion also injured 166 more. It is possible Gerdt's intention was to leave the bomb and remotely detonate it after he left, it's unknown if he died on accident or if the bombing was a suicide.
Motive
Petri's motive for the bombing is unknown, but it's possible that he blew himself up due to girlfriend problems.
