Pope John XII (born Octavianus) is a Catholic bishop who ruled the Papal States from 955 until his death in 964. He became leader at a very young age. Most historical accounts state that he succeeded Pope Agapetus II around the ages of 17 and 24, though an official age has never been truly confirmed.
He became infamous for being not only a corrupt and ruthless leader, but also an addicted rapist and sexual deviant. In power, he murdered many whom he thought were demons. He additionally had constant sexual relations with many women, including those relating to incest with his sisters.
His perversion proved to be his downfall, as after a husband caught his wife having an affair with him, John XII was beat and attacked heavily. He later died days later from his injuries.
