'''Richard Steve Goldberg''' (born November 9, 1945) is a convicted sex offender and a former fugitive who was added to the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list on June 14, 2002. Goldberg is the 474th fugitive to be placed on the list. He was captured in Montreal, Canada on May 12, 2007

== Biography ==
Goldberg moved to Long Beach, California, in 2001 and became a babysitter. In May 2001 two girls discovered [[Child Pornography|child pornography]] on Goldberg's computer and the authorities were informed. The police launched an official investigation into Goldberg after six children reported that he had sexually assaulted them. In June his computer was seized and he was arrested when images of naked children were discovered on his computer, including some of Goldberg himself having sex with children. He was bailed for $50,000 and fled to Montreal, Canada, where he lived for six years. The FBI offered $100,000 for his arrest.

In May 2007, a counsellor recognized Goldberg as one of the FBI's Top Ten Most Wanted Fugitives and told their Los Angeles Field Office where he was hiding. On May 12, Goldberg was arrested for illegally entering Canada and deported to America, where he was charged with child sexual abuse, distribution of sexual material involving children and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. He was sentenced to twenty years in prison and is currently serving his sentence in New Jersey.

On May 12, 2007, Goldberg was arrested in Montreal by Canadian authorities and was extradited to the United States to face federal and state charges of sexual exploitation of children, unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, lewd acts upon a child, and possession of child pornography. Goldberg (age 62) pled guilty and was sentenced on December 10, 2007 to 20 years in federal prison.[[Category:Perverts]]
