Robert Farquharson is a father of three who was murdered his three sons on September 4, 2005. He deliberately drove his car, a white 1989 VN Commodore, into a farm dam with his three sons in it, crashing and eventually sinking into a nearby pond. The three sons eventually drowned to death.
He was later arrested and found guilty of the murders in 2007. He was ultimately sentenced to life imprisonment with a 33 year minimum on October 15, 2010.

His mother appears to have shared some of his traits and may have used alcohol to cope with her anxiety. The youngest of four children, Farquharson was indulged and mollycoddled by his mother and older siblings.
