On April 29th, 2015, Russell Taylor, director of the Jared Foundation, was arrested at his Indianapolis home on charges of child exploitation, possession of child pornography, and voyeurism. [[Jared Fogle]] severed all ties with him immediately following the arrest. Taylor attempted suicide on May 6th, 2015, at the Marion County Jail and was placed on life support. Taylor pleaded guilty to the charges on September 1st, 2015, and on December 10th, 2015, was sentenced to 27 years in federal prison. It is a dramatically different image from the low-profile public persona of the man who headed the Jared Foundation, promoting the youth outreach work of longtime Subway pitchman Jared Fogle. Today, Taylor is in federal custody. On July 7th, 2015 federal and state authorities raided Fogle's Zionsville home. Subway said in a statement that the raid appeared to be "related to a prior investigation of a former Jared Foundation employee." Fogle, the Indiana University grad who has amassed a fortune estimated at $15 million from representing Subway, has not been detained or charged with any crime. Whether or not the case against Taylor will lead to charges against Fogle remains a mystery. | |||
